Ambassadors of Impact

Who are the MYPI Youth?

The MYPI Youth are young individuals like YOU who come from all walks of life and want to make an impact on themselves, on their relationships and in their community. Among our youth, we have different tiers of leadership: 

  1. MYPI Youth Participants: Youth who receive updates and announcements and participate in our general events.

  2. MYPI Youth Ambassadors:

    • Youth who are representatives of MYPI in their mosques and communities

    • Youth who are involved in our Programs (Mentorship, Mental Wellness, Pathways to Success, Tutoring and Adopt a Family programs) and committees (Marketing, Fundraising, Website, etc..)

    • Interns that are new to MYPI and have less than 154 hours of MYPI dedicated hours

  3. MYPI Youth Impact Leaders:

    • Youth who are leading programs or committees with the help of advisors/managers.

    • Interns / Youth Ambassadors who have more than 155 hours of MYPI dedicated hours.

Designed to help raise awareness of the issues Muslim youth experience daily, and offers a series of resources to improve lives; provides support at the point of crisis for those that need emotional support. (Free and confidential)

CRISIS TEXT LINE

A not for profit organization that offers free mental health services via text messaging. Upon texting the Crisis Line at 741-741, a trained crisis counselor receives the message and responds within minutes, attempting to help alleviate the situation and connect you to help locally. You do not need to be experiencing thoughts of suicide to reach out to a crisis line; these resources are available 24/7 for those experiencing any crisis such as sexual abuse, self-harm, severe grief, domestic violence, etc.


SUPPORT FOR MUSLIM YOUTH

The stones to bridges website is an excellent resource targeted towards Muslim youth and provides anonymous support and aid from professional counselors. This is a place for Muslim youth to unwind, and is a truly interesting resources as Muslim youth often struggle with things we do not feel comfortable bringing up to our parents or going to a sheikh, and this website can provide an outlet for those experiencing such sentiments.

KHALIL CENTER HELPLINE

The Khalil Center Helpline is built to provide “in the moment” aid through a secure crisis line, emphasizing psychological reconstruction and spiritual elevation through approaches rooted in Islamic concepts while integrating the science of psychology. The Khalil Center was established to address familial, psychological, and spiritual issues of Muslim communities.

NASEEHA HELPLINE

A Muslim-orientated mental health hotline available 7 days a week that was built to serve as a safe zone for youth and individuals to talk and get the help they need. As the first line of contact for many individuals, they are dedicated to providing confidential counseling services and empower people to create viable action plans to help themselves.

National suicide hotline

A lifeline that provides 24/7, free and confidential support established to provide support to people in a suicidal crisis or those experiencing emotional distress. This lifeline isn’t solely exclusive to those undergoing such issues firsthand, but can also be used by those who may know someone enduring such profound sentiments.  (Free and confidential)
